My letter to Google

... And Googlegate continues...

In an effort to better understand how and why this website is a "significant risk" to advertisers, I sent a letter to Google's New York offices today.  Do I expect them to reply? No.  But it would be courteous to do so.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to you to find out the specifics of why my AdSense account was terminated and why I am being considered a “significant risk” to your advertisers because I would like to better understand my situation and work to correct it.  As a publisher, I feel that I am entitled to know the extent of my supposed “risk”.
My website, thecelebologist.com, has been operating since November 2009 using Blogger and I have been very fortunate that it has caught on in popularity.  I even have a contract with a worldwide photo agency to legally display pictures in my posts.  I have built Facebook pages and Twitter pages to promote the website, and have been seeing daily increases in people visiting my website because of it.  I have used FeedBurner to feed my blog into Twitter.  I have even taken Google up on a promotion for AdWords to further promote it.  Because of these promotion efforts, my website has had over 3,600 visits since November, which is being tracked by Google Analytics.  I have seen my AdSense earnings increase, and believed (and still believe) it is a direct result of the promotion I am doing for the website.  Everything I have done for my website has been through Google, and I am very saddened and disheartened that Google abruptly disabled my account and denied my appeal.
I feel as if Google has shut down a thriving website and has crippled it.  I feel as if I am being punished for using your AdSense and Affiliate products, and for the success of my website.  The ads are there for visitors to click on and I have chosen ads carefully to match my target audience with Google Affiliate.  The commission I have RIGHTFULLY earned from Google Affiliate (Fossil) has even been taken away.
I want to understand why my account was terminated to see if there are any changes that need to be made or if I need to put some additional trackers on it to truly see if there is any invalid activity occurring on my website.  The vague answers on your emails and forums are not helpful to me in trying to correct this situation. I find it appalling that you would send such an email, and not follow through on replies and requests to know what in fact I am considered a “risk”.  I would very much like to continue using Google products, including using Blogger as my platform, however, I am very much disappointed in what has occurred and feel that I may have to switch to another platform.  I believed I had a great foundation with having my website linked to all the products Google has to offer and this situation has certainly been a shock to that belief.
Thank you for taking the time to address my concern and I look forward to your reply.

Replying to my letter would be a part of this thing called "customer service" and "responsibility to customers".  We'll see how this plays out.

At this point, I don't really care about the money I (rightfully) earned that they kept to make themselves richer.  It's just the principle of the matter.  I want to know the reason(s) why I'm such a "risk".  When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong.  But, if I don't know what in the world happened, how will I know if it truly is something I'm doing?!?  I could be doing something and not even realizing it.  Who knows?!?  Maybe they'll reconsider and reinstate my account, although it's probably a fat chance.

I'll let you guys know when they respond.  Thanks again for your readership and support.
